TROPHIES FOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN WINNERS

Bronze Cycladic Head Trophies

Cast in bronze, the large elegant slimline heads based on a Cycladic design are 31cm tall (including the marble base) and weigh 2.5kg.  Cycladic art, originating from the Cyclades in the southern Aegean, dates from around the 3rd millenium BC.   The sculpted figures have a very distinctive design, simple forms and lines, that do not look out of place today.  Much research has been undertaken to discover the meaning of the figures, however the significance of the designs remains unknown.

CRAFTSMANSHIP AWARDS - For recently completed buildings in the UK.

John Smith Award for Craftsmanship

All entries will be considered initially from photographs and other supporting material, and shortlisted buildings will then be inspected at close quarters by the panel of expert judges.

Winner's prize: Engraved plaque
