CURTAIN STREET, LONDON

This installation, within a converted Victorian warehouse, provides a large conference facility for an American internet management company. The enclosing wall is boat-like in its construction and form and the choice of copper is intended as a metaphor for the material's impact on telecommunications. The bright, natural appearance is maintained with a special lacquer preventing oxidisation. T he judges considered this to be a beautiful example of copper used internally with first class workmanship of hand-made shingles and closer-trims. |
