Bronze Cycladic Head Trophy

Cast in bronze, this elegant slimline head based on a Cycladic design is 31cm tall (including the marble base) and weighs 2.5kg.  Cycladic art, originating from the Cyclades in the southern Aegean, dates from around the 3rd millenium BC.   The sculpted figures have a very distinctive design, simple forms and lines, that do not look out of place today.  Much research has been undertaken to discover the meaning of the figures, however the significance of the designs remains unknown.

Judging of over 74 projects has taken place - 31 in Europe and 43 in the UK and a shortlist has been drawn up.  The winners will be announced at an awards presentation in London on 25th September 2007.
